MegaFon says fully pays for purchase of 63.8% votes in Mail.Ru Grp
MOSCOW, Dec 29 (PRIME) -- Big Russian mobile operator MegaFon has announced the completion of all payments due under the share purchase agreement for acquisition of an approximately 63.8% voting stake in Internet giant Mail.Ru Group, the operator said on Friday in a statement.
“MegaFon has made the final payment of the consideration under the share purchase agreement dated as of December 23, 2016 with New Media and Technology Investment LP, New Media Technologies Capital Partners Ltd. and Ardoe Finance Ltd., subsidiaries of USM Holdings, a controlling shareholder of MegaFon,” the statement read.
“Pursuant to the agreement, MegaFon acquired 11.5 million class A shares and 21.9 million ordinary shares representing an approximately 15.2% of the charter capital and 63.8% voting stake in Mail.Ru on February 9, 2017.”
The payment was in the amount of U.S. $100 million plus interest accrued thereon from the closing date, and in such a way the total amount of the deal was $740 million, including $640 million paid by MegaFon earlier.
